Information We Collect

Perfect Tresses is operated by Shinead Hayes, trading as Perfect Tresses, based at 48 Queen's Road, Floor 2, Coventry, CV1 3EH ("we", "us", "our"). We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.

Information You Give Us Directly

  • Contact and enquiry details — name, email address, phone number, and the content of any message you send us through the website contact form, by email, by phone, or via Instagram or Facebook direct message.
  • Booking information — the service or training course you're interested in, your preferred dates, and any details relevant to your consultation (for example hair history or contraindications), collected either directly by us or via our third-party booking system.
  • Training enquiries — course preference and payment preference submitted through our training enquiry forms.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Website usage data — pages visited, time on site, and general location and device information, collected via Google Analytics.
  • Advertising and social data — where you've interacted with our Instagram or Facebook content, Meta may share anonymised or aggregated engagement data with us.

Information From Third Parties

We use trusted third-party services to help run the business. Each provider processes your data under its own privacy policy, in addition to this one:

Provider Purpose What's Shared
Booking system (that-time.co.uk) Online appointment booking Name, contact details, appointment details
Stripe Course payment processing Payment details (processed directly by Stripe — we do not see or store full card details)
Klarna / Clearpay Instalment payment options Payment and identity details required by the provider to approve instalment plans
Google Analytics Understanding how the website is used Anonymised browsing behaviour

How We Use Your Information

We only use your personal information for clear, specific purposes connected to running Perfect Tresses:

  • To manage your booking, consultation, or training course enrolment, and to communicate with you about it.
  • To process payments and deposits, including through Stripe, Klarna, and Clearpay.
  • To provide aftercare advice and respond to questions about a service or course you've booked.
  • To send you information you've specifically asked for, such as course dates or a quote.
  • To keep basic records required for accounting, insurance, and legal purposes.
  • To understand how our website is used, so we can keep improving it.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

How Long We Keep It

We keep personal information only for as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected — typically for the duration of our relationship with you plus a reasonable period afterwards for accounting, insurance, and legal record-keeping (generally up to 6 years for financial records, in line with UK tax requirements). Enquiry messages that don't lead to a booking are deleted or anonymised within a reasonable period.

Cookies & Analytics

Our website uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies to help it run properly and to help us understand how it's used.

  • Essential cookies — required for the website and booking forms to function correctly.
  • Google Analytics — helps us understand which pages are useful and how visitors find the site. Data is aggregated and does not identify you personally.
  • Meta (Facebook/Instagram) tools — where used, these help us understand engagement with our social content and, where applicable, measure the performance of any advertising.

You can control or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect how parts of the site or booking forms work.

Your Rights

Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), you have the right to:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you, and request a copy of it.
  • Ask us to correct any information that's inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Ask us to delete your information, where there's no legal or contractual reason for us to keep it.
  • Ask us to restrict or object to how your information is used.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where we're relying on consent (for example, marketing communications).
  • Request that certain information be transferred to another organisation, where technically possible.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We'll respond within one month, as required by law.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your personal information, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. Payment details are handled directly by our payment providers (Stripe, Klarna, Clearpay) — we do not store full card details ourselves.

Children's Information

Our services are aimed at adults. Where a client under 18 wishes to book a service, we ask that a parent or guardian makes the booking and provides consent.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. The most current version will always be available on this page.
